Project Coordinator - New Plymouth

It’s the commitment to our people that sets us apart, and the calibre of our people that makes us great. Build your career with WSP Opus and Be Part of It.

We are looking for a Project Coordinator to join our New Plymouth office. In this role, you will be managing project administration and co-ordination between our engineers, project managers, contractors and clients mainly around services we deliver to our public stakeholders.

You will be at the centre of the web, coordinating project information; in other words, connecting the dots at the back-end, to ensure everything runs smoothly at the front-end. You will work with a various group of stakeholders across different teams, to ultimately facilitate decision making and impact client engagement.

The opportunity:
  • Liaise with clients and contractors as required.
  • Provide project administration including site minutes, notices to contractors, scheduled reporting to clients, payment claims etc. and preparation of project briefs and fee estimates.
  • Communicate critical project information (briefs, deadlines, progress and client feedback) in an effective and timely manner.
  • Ensure project related quality processes are carried out (technical reviews, verification, approval to release etc.) in a timely and cost-effective manner.
  • Provide good practice risk identification, contract and communication, and implement meaningful strategies to meet project objectives.

Requirements:
  • Strong organisational ability to optimise and prioritise conflicting demands in a busy environment, to achieve deadlines and see responsibilities through to completion.
  • A clear and effective communicator, both in writing and in person, and demonstrates understanding of the importance of regular and useful communication.
  • Good analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Good interpersonal skills, and the ability to present ideas, information and advice in a way that is understandable by a range of audiences.
  • Computer literate; proficient in Windows 7 or later, MS Word/Excel and other Microsoft Office applications. Knowledge of Microsoft Project an advantage.

If this sounds like you, we want you to be part of what makes us great. Are you ready to be part of it? For further information, please view the position description.
