You will be based in our established Archaeology team in
Auckland, Hamilton, Tauranga, where you will receive support and training whilst delivering our projects.

This is a Fixed-term position.

Opportunity:
 
Your role will be to meet the needs of clients through the provision of professional consulting services. You will provide a consultancy service to clients in the area of Archaeology and/or Heritage locally and nationally.
  1. Demonstrate strong technical knowledge of archaeological and heritage management practices.
  2. Has a clear understanding of the requirements of the Heritage New Zealand Act 2014, and the Resource Management Act 1991.
  3. Is able to make sound decisions about technical issues and can problem solve for clients in order to get the best possible outcome.
  4. Provides expert evidence and advice to local and regional authority hearings if required.
  5. Promotes best practice within the team and individual projects.
  6. Provides a range of archaeological and heritage services to clients including research, archaeological assessment, analysis, field work, archaeological excavations, document preparation and recommendations to clients.
  7. Prepares, manages and executes projects to a high level.
  8. Identifies and pursues market opportunities targeting local authorities, and government agencies and commercial interests who have statutory and commercial interests in archaeological and heritage assets. Implement marketing strategies.
 
Qualifications & Skills:
  • A post-graduate tertiary qualification in Archaeology or Heritage Management.
  • A member of the New Zealand Archaeological Association or similar.
  • Minimum of 10 years professional experience in the archaeological and/or associated disciplines.
  • Considered a Senior Specialist in the field of Archaeology and Heritage management.
